Local Conveyancing for Alice Springs Buyers and Sellers

Buying or selling a home in Alice Springs comes with contracts, searches and settlement dates that all need careful handling. At Outback Conveyancing Services, we provide residential conveyancing for buyers and sellers across Alice Springs and the surrounding Northern Territory, from first homes through to established family properties and family transfers.

Our licensed conveyancers review your contract, manage the required searches and coordinate with the other party's representative, the bank and the Land Titles Office to keep your transaction moving from contract to settlement. Before you sign anything, our stamp duty calculator can give you an early estimate of the government charges involved in your purchase.

Scope of work

What Our Residential Conveyancing Service Covers

Our residential conveyancing service covers every stage of your property transaction, from initial contract review to settlement day.

  • Contract review

We check the contract of sale for special conditions, finance and inspection clauses before you sign. This gives you a clear picture of your rights and obligations from the outset.

  • Property searches

We arrange the title, rates and other required searches for your property. These confirm there are no unexpected issues affecting the title before settlement.

  • Liaising with all parties

We coordinate with the other party's conveyancer or solicitor, your bank and the real estate agent throughout the transaction. This keeps everyone working towards the same settlement date.

  • Settlement coordination

We prepare the settlement figures and attend to the transfer of ownership on your behalf. Once settlement is complete, we handle the registration of the transfer with the Land Titles Office.

What Happens After You Sign the Contract

Once your contract of sale becomes unconditional, a series of steps needs to happen before settlement. We conduct the required searches, including title, council rates and water rates, so you understand exactly what you're taking on or handing over.

In the lead-up to settlement, we calculate the pre-settlement adjustments for rates and other outgoings between you and the other party, and confirm these figures before settlement day. On settlement day itself, we coordinate with the other party's representative and the banks involved to complete the transfer of funds and the property.

After settlement, we attend to registering the transfer with the NT Land Titles Office, so your ownership is formally recorded. We'll let you know what documentation and identification you need to provide along the way, including for the Verification of Identity process now required for all NT property transactions.
